Soap! and the different types of soaps

This post is not about the different types of soap brands, neither is it about the different types of soap bases, it is about the different types of soap making so even if you are a buyer or you want to make your own soaps, it is important to know the different types of soap and their importance. I have listed the types of soap. Below

Hard and soft most times hardness of soap is achieved by adding hardening agents, that is to say the more the harnening agent, the harder the soap will be. This is one reason why many natural soaps are softer. Hard soap can be produced through repeat regrinding and re-forming process. Another way of improving the hardness of soap is to reduce the moisture content of the soap this can be done by increasing curing in very low humidity conditions. Below are the different types of soap.

1. GLYCERINE SOAPS
Glycerine is normally produced in the process of making soap. Glycerine attracts water which is why soaps with glycerine in them usually makes the skin moisture. Because glycerine soaps attract water, they have more water in them and attract water from the atmosphere, this is the cause of sweating in humid conditions. Most commercial soaps so not have glycerine component during manufacture because it can sold separate. You can learn how to make good glycerine soaps here.

2. LIQUID SOAPS
Liquid soaps is a common type of soap but are the most difficult to make and many of the commercial liquid soaps are nothing but detergent. The will also do normal cleaning. Soaps made from synthetic surfactants which do not have soap components in them are good types of liquid soap. This could also make the soap PH neutral. Learn how to make liquid soap here

3. TRANSPARENT SOAPS
This type of soap is not common. In making transparent soaps, you will need to use some different components and some form of alcohol to alter the manufacturing process and the process should done at higher temperatures. You can learn more about how yo make transparent here

DO NOTE that not all transparent soaps have glycerine component in them. so now you know the different types of soaps Let us know which type of soap is your preferred type of soap. You can also learn how to make other homemade product on this blog. Absolutely free.

1.       Dissolve 2 kg (NaOH) and the ¼ (NaCO3) in separate bowls to dissolve with 1 ½ of Water (180 cl) measure its concentration using a hydrometer (this is very important) to get 2550kg/m3. To the (NaCO3) dissolve with 60 cl of water and then measure the concentration of the solution to be 2500 kg/mg3. Leave the solution to settle for 2 days.
2.       On the second day that is after the solution must have spent 2 days, dissolve magnesium sulphate and borax separately with a small amount of water and mix for evenly dissolution. (Mix very well).
3.       Now pour the palm oil in a big plastic bowl (do not use plastic bowl) and mix with the colorant (the choice for colorant is yours to make). But ensure you add the colorant to taste.
4.       Pour the NaOH solution into the palm oil, then mix and stir before adding the NaCO3 solution and stir properly.
5.       We are almost there but with the amount of money you will save by producing your own homemade toilet soap, will go a long way in changing your financial status. Now take the last step in the production of your own homemade toilet soap.
Now add the magnesium sulphate, borax and caustic silicate, together with the fragrance (add fragrance to taste), glycerine and pink oil. Stir the mixture very well to homogenize.
6.       Continue stirring the mixture until you notice a reflection/shinning surface. When you notice these stop stirring and pour the mixture in the soap mould (the soap mould is the shape you want your soap to have). Allow to solidify.

And also in the production of toilet soap use only plastic bowl for mixing your chemicals and for the stirrer either use a plastic or a wooden stirrer.
If in any case the chemicals come in contact with your skin or clothe, wash off with plenty of water.

CDEA,
Table salt or sodium chloride,
 STPP,

 Water.

NOTE: All the above chemicals are subjected to multiplication or division, provided that it is done with a constant factor (100 grams of CDEA ÷ 2 = 50 grams and 60 grams of STPP ÷ 2 = 30 grams) I believe you get that. Like a said before this is the most important aspect of manufacturing/production once you get this wrong you will not produce a good quality  liquid laundry detergent or any other product you want to produce. So always make sure to take extra time in the study and application of the right formulation in your production process no matter how small what you want to produce may be.
So now that you know the formulation needed in the production of liquid laundry detergent, let us now go into main production. But before we proceed, I would like you to go over the formulation again and get it into your head.

VERY IMPORTANT:  Most of these chemicals are gotten easily from a very good chemical shop or company. But ensure to buy the original as a fake chemical will not only give you a very poor quality product but may be harmful to your health during the production process.

Method:
Like I said earlier, this is the easiest method so just relax and let me take you through these simple and easy to understand step by step on how to make your own liquid detergent.
Step 1. Using a graduated cylinder, measure 160 – 260 grams of SLES. Measure the 1544 – 1660 grams of water.
Step 2. Transfer the SLES to a beaker and a little water. Stir the SLES very well.
Step 3. Now add the 100 grams of CDEA to the SLES solution, mix well with the stirrer.
Step 4. Continue stirring the mixture until it becomes creamy. Add water once in a while that is do not add water often, do this so as to prevent the mixture from foaming while stirring.
Step 5. Dissolve the 60 grams STPP in a little amount of water in a separate bowl and mix it very well, then keep it aside for later use.
Step 6. If the CDEA – SLES mixture is already creamy, transfer it to a small pail or stainless steel container. Add a little amount of water while you stir continuously.
Step 7. You are almost done just a few steps and you are a liquid detergent manufacturer. Now transfer the mixture to the mixer and switch it on. When the mixture is already foamy, add the dissolved STPP slowly while mixing continuously.
Step 8. Dissolve the salt in a little amount of water and add the dissolved salt to the mixture which you are mixing in the mixer.
Step 9.  Now add the lemon fragrance in drops do this little by little so you don’t end up putting more than expected. If you do this right, you will produce a very good liquid detergent.
Step 10. Continue mixing until the mixture become thick. Once the mixture is now thickened, pour it into a clean container and set aside for about 2 hours.
Step 11. When there are no suds, pour the liquid liquid detergent into clean bottles.

You have just succeeded in producing your own liquid detergent you can start making use of it after 24 hours.
You can choose to become a producer and make loads of money of you can choose to produce for you and your family the choice is yours.

Now go and make your own and see how much you could make if you become a producer or how much you can save if you choose to stop buying and start making your own liquid detergent.
