Let us go straight to the process and let me show you how you can make you own homemade soy milk. Like every production process, it is important to know the Materials, Equipment and Ingredient needed for a sucessful production process. EQUIPMENT: Bowl or Basin. Mini Grinder. Seiver or Seiving clothe. Pot. Heating souce. Tray Pan. INGREDIENTS AND FORMULATION FOR 5 LITRES: Soy Beans = 4 Cups. Water = 500ml whic is about 6 cups. Preservatives = Sodium Benzoate. Pineapple Flavour = 1 Sachet. Vanilla Flavour = 2 Sachets. Colourant = To Taste. Salt = To Taste. Sugar = 2 Cups Having known the equipment and the ingredient, let us now go straight to the process of making homemade soy milk. METHOD: The first thing to do is to sort the soy beans with the sorting machine to remove stone and any other materials that can affect the quality of your soy milk. This can also be done manually but if the quantity of soy beans you have to sort is much you have to use the sorting machine. After sorting the beans, soak them in cold water for about 6 hours this will enable you remove the husk and the testa which have a bitter taste and can affect your milk negatively. Now re - soak the beans but this time soak them in warm water and leave it over night. Wash the beans the next day, do this smoothly to avoid the beans loosing it's nutrients. Now put them in a bow, and add 200ml of water which is about 2 cups you can add more water but ensure not to add too much. Now grind the beans with your grinder. After grinding, filter the material with your neat seiver or your seiving clothe into a bowl to get a liquid substance. This is getting really interesting i bet you can't wait to get a sip from your milk be patient you are getting close to making your own homemade soy milk. Now put the filtrate which is the milk that is the liquid you filtered into a bowl. Now pour the liquid substance in a pot and boil for about 15 minutes, do not over heat to avoid becoming thick or losing much protein. During the boiling stage remove the foams from the top of the pot and lower the heat to add other ingredients. Add all the ingredient according to the formulation above. After adding the ingredients, continue boiling for 10 to 15 minutes and then taste the soya milk for raw taste. If it doesn't taste raw, take it off the heating source and allow the soya milk to cool. By this time your soya milk is ready now package the milk in cans or any other container of your choice and seal properly. After sealing, pasturize the sealed milk in water bath at a temperature of 75 degrees to 80 degrees to destroy any invading microbes. There you have it... How to make soap rich in glycerin part 2

More on how to make glycerin soap. This is the complete part of my last article how to make soap rich in glycerin A summary of my last article: Glycerin soaps are very good for your skin because it helps to moisturize the skin and make it soft and beautiful Most soaps have little or no glycerin content It is important to learn how to make your own homemade glycerin soap Knowing how to make your own homemade glycerin soap gives you the chance to be creative and be able to use what you truly desire which is soap that has good glycerin content It is fun making your own stuff The method i talked about in my last article is the melt and pour method and the types of glycerin soaps i mentioned are the transparent glycerin soap and the olive oil soap I promise to talk about other soap that can use with the melt and pour method, how to add color and fragrance to your soap to give you a very good product The next one is the GOAT MILK GLYCERIN SOAP: This is a very good type of glycerine soap that can be used to make soap with the melt and pour method. This soap is slightly more expensive than the other soap we have talks about but the quality you get makes up for the cost. Don't let the name scare you, this soap is very rich in nutrients which are very good for your skin. This soap has no color or fragrance so it is easy to add both color and fragrance of your choice HEMP GLYCERIN SOAP: When i decided to give the melt and pour method a try, the first one i used was the hemp glycerin soap. I used it first for Several reaaons 1. It has good amount of vitamin content 2. It can be used to make soaps that looks like the transparent soap but not entirely tansparent 3. I knew that the hemp oil is very rich in omega, fatty acid e.t.c and i felt it will give me what i wanted Always ensure you buy blocks of hemp glycerin soap with at least 20% - 25% of glycerin and should contain no alcohol or harsh detergents EQUIPMENT NEEDED FOR MAKING SOAP USING THE MELT AND POUR METHOD: One reason why i know you will like this method is because the equipments are easy to find and they are readily available. I always use the double boiler but you could also try the mini oven or your microwave. I use the double boiler because the cover help to prevent the moisture of the soap from evaporating DIRECTION: If you are using the double boiler, put some amount of water in the boiler and switch on. When the water start to boil, add the same of the melt and pour soap you bought, depending on the numbers of soap bars you want to make cover the boiler and lower the temperature. This will take some time before it fully melts so you should check at least every 5 minute and stir. When the base have been melted, you can then proceed to add your color and fragrance. But if the microwave is what you decide to use, melt the base soap for 1 min and continue stirring until fully melted. Make sure to cover the microwave to prevent excess loss of moisture ADDING COLOR TO YOUR SOAP: I use the food coloring because it is easier to measure since it is liquid all you need to do is to add a few drops and mix, do this until you get the color of your choice. You can also use mica for the color or any type of color you know but always ensure you add little color and mix until you get what you want It is very common for the soap to form bubbles, when this happen, you have two options either to spray with rubbing alcohol or leave the bubbles for design. Make sure the color is mixed well so as to have a uniform colored soap ADDING FRAGRANCE TO YOUR SOAP: Adding fragrance is as easy as adding color. When the base of the soap is fully melted, get your fragrance oil or essential oil and add very few drops and mix, do this until you are ok with the fragrance of your soap. After adding the fragrance make sure you mix thoroughy for an even distributed fragrance So you have added the color, the fragrance and have mix very well now let us mold the soap to shape. To do this, get any soap mold of your choice and pour the melted soap into the mold leave for a few hours to harden. If bubbles form on the suface, spray with alcohol to remove the bubles. Now remove the soap from the mould and your soap is ready to use As you must have disvoverered, the amount you spend in making about 10 bars of soap will not buy you 5 bars and the quality you have made is far better knowing that most soap you buy contain little or no glycerin which is very good for your skin. The fun part of making my own stuff have been the reason why i keep learning new ways to make my own stuff. I bet you have had fun making your own homemade soap and knowing that you are creative P.S: This method is what i have used to make glycerin soap and they work for me. If you follow these step carefully and correctly you will have a fine glycerin soap for yourself, your family or even if you want to give it as gift

How to make homemade soap rich in glycerin

In one of my previous post i talked about types of soap. One of the types of soap i talked about in that post is the glycerin soap which is very good for the skin. There are different methods used in making homenade soap but in this post i will be talking about the melt and pour method of making homemade glycerin soap. I was in my first year in the university when i was first introduced to the art of making homemade products and over the years i have made several homemade products for personal and commercial use. Although i have heard and read about the melt and pour method, i have not tried it myself. Recently i decided to give it a try to know how the method works. After trying it, i found it to be one of the easiest method used to make glycerin soap. Although this method looks easy for me, It can be a bit confusing for a newbie so we will break it into three different post for your easy understanding. I will talk about two types of glycerin soap that can be made from this method and we will continue in the next post. Before you begin soap making process always ensure safety measure are in place and be as careful as possible. Soap can be harmful expecially the boiling process. It is a known fact that most homemade soap are made from glycerin. The problem with most soap sold in stores is that they have little or no glycerin content. In the post where i talked about the types of soap, i said the reason why most soap sold in stores do not have glycerin is because it can be sold seperately which is what some companies prefer to do. Another reason why soap sold in store have little or no glycerin content is because the glycerin have been processed out. This is one of many reason why i make my own soap and a lot of other homemade products. Making your own soap gives you the chance to be creative and you get to use the kind of soap you desire which is rich in glycerin. If you haven't read my previous post soaps and the different types of soap, glycerin moisturize your skin and makes it soft but also look great. Before starting the melt and pour method, you need to get your soaps which you will melt and pour. Most soap making supplier or online soap stores have large sizes of clear soap of different sizes. Bear in mind that prices are influenced by different conditions like distance, the type and size you want and also depending on the store or supplier you chose to patronize. Having decided on the store you want to buy your blocks of soap, let me show you the different types of melt and pour soap you need to make your homemade glycerine soap. The first one we will be looking at is the Transparent glycerin soap: Like the name, this type of soap is clear and changing the color of clear glycerine soap are easier compared to other types. With the clear glycerin soap you can add any color and fragrance of your choice. It is mostly gotten from vegetables and one of my prefered choice when using the melt and pour method for making glycerin soap. If you would like to make soaps with objects inside and different layers, the clear glycerin soap will do that perfectly. The amazing thing about the clear glycerin soaps used in the melt and pour method is that it is as good as the ones you will buy from stores. In addition it is fun and exciting i bet your kids will love it. The second one we will be looking at is the Olive Oil Soap: The Olive oil soap is slightly similar to the Clear Glycerin soap from the appearance it can be describe as semi transparent that means it is not very clear. It normally have slight dull color. The type of soap with the most closely relatated features when compared to the olive oil soap is the hemp glycerin soap. The only difference between the two is that the hemp is used in the hemp glycerin soap while olive oil is used for the olive oil soap. To buy the clear glycerin soap and other types is not as difficult as when buying the olive oil soap. Make sure the olive oil you buy is a cold pressed olive oil with good amount of fatty accids, essential vitamins and minerals and a resonable percentage of glycerin this is very important if you want to make good quality glycerine soap. In our next post we will look at the other types of melt and pour soap to make good quality soap. We will be looking at Hemp Glycerin soap and Goat milk glucerin soap (another very good type of glycerin soap i lnpw you will love it). I will also tell you the ingredients and equipment used in melt and pour method of making soap. You will learn how and when to add fragrance and color to give your soap a very fine color and fragrance. If you like this post please share and if you have a question or suggestion(s) pleaae use the comment box.

Homemade perfume recipe and how to make perfume

If you have always wanted to make your own perfume, and you don't know the homemade perfume essential oils, then this is the right post you should read and if what you want is to learn how to make homemade perfume for kids, you will find this post very helpful.
In this post you will also know the important homemade perfume ingredients to make good and lasting perfume.

Apparatus needed for making home made perfume:
Mixing chamber (e.g beaker, containers etc), Filter, test tubes, Measuring cylinder, Pressure containers.

Chemicals/ingredients needed in making homemade perfume:

Raw perfume/ Essential oils, Alcohol (ethanol, methanol etc), Distilled water.

Method:
Row perfumes or essential oils of your choice are all available in the market e.g 212 for men, vanilla, bakhur, miyake, Casablanca, etc
there are three types of notes when it comes to making perfumes.

Base note.
Middle note
top note
these depend on how long the lasting effect of the perfume.

Buy any raw perfume from any reliable chemical stores, base note could last for 2 hours or more on the body.
Perfume company normally uses cedar wood, cinnamon patchouli, sandalwood and vanilla in making a product. Some example of middle note raw perfumes or essential oils are bottle nut meg, geranium, neroli and yang-ylang. While the raw perfumes or essential oil needed to make top notch are bergamot and lavender etc.
The different note will never workout on their own without  another note known as the bridge note.
This note helps to blend the various scents together making the whole perfume work. Some example of the bridge notes are litsea cubeba, lavender and lemongrass etc. When you search for these oil you will see more of them to choose from.

Now you must be wondering if it's possible to use all three note to make a perfume, THE ANSWER IS A PLAIN YES.
This is what you need to do, You can add add few drops of each of the raw perfume or essential oil you have bought into a test tube in equal rate that 1:1 or 1:2 as you desire.
The drops of the raw perfumes you have added will mix together. Smell it to know if everything is going well now add 57ml of alcohol (ethanol or methanol).
Smelling the product is not the best way to check if it is working prfectly.
To check the perfume, apply small amount on the skin to make sure it does not have any averse reaction or does not affect the skin negatively.
If you follow this instruction carefully then your perfume should be ok and not have any negative effect on the skin.

Note that the drops placed from the essential oils into the ethanol won't even reach halfway point of the test tube. If the smell is still good, this should be stored in a cool place for 48 hours.

After 48hours, mix it with the distilled water and the let it come out through a filter.

Now pour the perfume you have made in a small plastic container with a sprayer on top.
You can use dark container to make the content last longer.

RULE 1: In this method you stored your perfume for 48 hours, the longer you store the perfume before adding distilled water to it, the stronger the smell of the perfume and the more effective it will be.

RULE 2: The process of producing the right scent takes a lot of patience. Sometimes putting more than one type pf not can change everything and you will have to start over. But don't let that discourage you from making your own homemade perfume. You should also know that companies trying to make new products also make these same mistake.

Now let me know how great your perfume is and what note you have used.
