1.      Hair cream

2.      Jeleen (harmattan) and

3.      Unseasoned body cream.

Before we start let look at them one after another

Hair cream production

This is a type of cosmetics that is produce to lubricate and protect the hair form dryness and cracks. The most essential ingredient in its production includes petroleum jelly and other natural materials.

Note: you only need active ingredient when you want to fortify your product so that it can attack dandruff and hair lice.

What are the equipment/apparatus needed for the production of Creams

1.      Heater: the production of cream involves heating and this can be done in various ways. Heating can be either manually or mechanically.

2.      Boiler: we already know that in the production of cream heating is involved. Now the heating must be done using what we call boiler. Simply put a container that is very good in the heating process.

3.      Mixer: this is container in which all the necessary chemicals are brought together and are mixed. The boiler can also be the mixer so ensure you use a big boiler that can contain all the content your want to mix or the amount of cream you want to produce.

4.      Containers: this is the containers for measuring and those for marketing the product. To save cost as a starter it is most advisable to use plastic containers.

5.      Cartons: this is what you will use to store the product and in marketing them.

Chemicals needed for the production of creams

The good thing about cream production is that the major chemicals needed are waste petroleum product.

1.      Petroleum jelly: this is a waste petroleum product; it is neither solid nor liquid. That sis semi liquid. It is the base of the product.

2.      Paraffin oil: this is also a waste petroleum product. It boils at 200 degrees. It is always in liquid state. It is the binding agent in the production.

3.      Paraffin wax: this is a soft solid that is can break easily it boils at 300 degrees. It is the building agent in the production of cream.

4.      Lanolin: this is an organic fatty substance. It is a mixture of palmitate, state and oleate of cholesterol. The main function of the lanolin is to keep the hair soft and mild. It also serves as the active ingredient and as the shinning component. Glycerin can also serve the same purpose.

Note: the lanolin is mostly used in the production of hair cream and not for the production of body cream.

     5. Perfume: this gives the product a good smell. It should be added to taste, not in excess. The choice is yours to make when choosing the fragrance to use for your cream production.

      6. Colorant: this gives the product a fine look. The application of colorant must be regular all              through the product. Just as accurate use of colorant can make the product extremely lovely,     excess colorant can make it ugly as well. So be very careful when you add your colorant and when choosing one. There are lots of colorant available in the market and best part is that you can even more than one colorant.
